The oat were broadcast prior to sowing and then incorporated into the soil with the seeder at sowing. The barley varieties chosen aimed to represent different plant architectures and growth habits that may influence competition (Table 1). WebDurack will be the earliest maturing oat variety of any current milling or hay variety, heading 10 to 12 days earlier than carrolup and 15 to 18 days earlier than bannister. Durack will get a final commercial milling evaluation after harvest this season to confirm its status before sowing in 2024.
