WebJan 23, 2008 · Apparently it only happens when there is something wrong with the binary. 1-whereis sendmail. 2- ls -l /path/to/sendmail/sendmail. 3- check for an -> postfix if it exists this sendmail binary is a shortcut to the postfix binary. 4- use /path/to/sendmail/sendmail in muttrc. 5-otherwise use the postfix binary directly.
