WebHealbot is a common way people use to get alts to follow. You basically just load healbot and use //hb follow "Name". You can even adjust the distane with //hb follow dist .2 to make them follow really close. They won't run off to god knows where when you swap gear for another advantage. You can also create priorities for damage/heal abilities so they will always choose enemy/friend if plates overlap (like Holy paladin spells).
